The Citizen Potawatomi Nation's FireLake Fireflight Balloon Fest is set to return in a little more than a week.

The annual hot air balloon festival is slated for Friday, Aug. 11 and Saturday, Aug. 12, at Raymond Peltier Park in Shawnee. The event is free and features balloon glows, youth carnival rides, a petting zoo, a splash pad and live music – including a performance from country music band Parmalee at 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Tethered hot air balloon rides, which start at 6 p.m. on both days, cost $20 per person. Guests also can enjoy nearly 90 vendors offering local crafts, services and foods.
